Pastoral Team

At St. Mary Catholic Virtue School, our Pastoral Program helps students build a personal friendship with God through the sacramental life, prayer, and regular participation in Mass. Students are invited to develop a deeper relationship with Christ through the "School of Prayer" and the Polaris Program, which integrates virtues into their daily lives.

A letter from St. Mary Catholic Virtue School Pastoral Team

Dear Parents,

The pastoral program at St. Mary Catholic Virtue School focuses on helping students build a friendship with God. The pastoral team enriches the school community through the sacramental life, building a life of prayer, and developing a sacramental vision in every aspect of school life. Students participate in a weekly school Mass, which is an opportunity to gather around the table of the Lord. Older students have a monthly grade mass (4th-8th grade). Confessions are offered during school time, since we fall along our journey.

Within the St. Mary Pastoral Program, every student has the opportunity to participate in "School of Prayer." This class is led by the chaplain and brother along with the homeroom teacher to offer students a place where they can develop a prayer life. Students are invited to know God more; knowing Him, to love Him; loving Him, to serve Him. Building a relationship with Christ is fundamental for the student's growth and integrated vision. Over time, the light of Christ shines more brightly as a guide for all the student's studies and endeavors in and outside the school. Finally, the Polaris program incorporates different virtues at every grade level to help students understand how God enters their daily life through specific activities and projects.

Now the priest is not someone at the altar, or preaching from the ambo, far away, but is someone close and approachable. This gives a key to our Catholic vision. God is not far away judging us, but walks with us in our everyday lives. He comes down and shares his life with us.

God bless,

In Mary, Christ; through Christ to the Father,
