Readiness for Elementary
Our St. Mary Catholic Virtue School Preschoolers prepare for Kindergarten and Elementary School by practicing the Core Virtues of Concord, Industriousness, Magnanimity, and Wisdom.
How our students discovers their greatness: CONCORD
Our St. Mary Catholic Virtue School students in Preschool prepare for their Elementary and Middle School years by engaging in projects that foster the practice of Concord.
The Educational Covenant is lived out during this critical period of childhood development by keeping the bond between parent and child, family and school, holy and strong.
Parent Foundation Workshops are offered for this reason, including "Strategies for Catholic Parents" and "Virtue-Based Restorative Discipline.
How our students discovers their greatness: INDUSTRIOUSNESS
At St. Mary Catholic Virtue School, our Preschoolers learn to work by learning to play.
Our Preschoolers have their own practices, such as Home Prayer Tables, while also taking part in activities with the rest of the school, such as the Christmas Pageant, Night of the Arts, Science Day, Pie with Parents, Holy Thursday Prayer Retreat, Family Story Night, Mother’s Day Tea, and May Crowning.
How our students discovers their greatness: MAGNANIMITY
In Preschool, St. Mary Catholic Virtue School students practice Magnanimity in order to prepare for Kindergarten and beyond.
The goal of practicing Magnanimity for this age group is to inculcate a sense of wonder, which will establish the habit of lifelong learning. Students are encouraged to look and to ask, to speculate and to inquire.
How our students discovers their greatness: WISDOM
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that "God's truth is His wisdom, which commands the whole created order and governs the whole world" (no. 216).
In addition to learning about the Faith and participating in the sacramental life, St. Mary Catholic Virtue School Preschoolers practice the Core Virtue of Wisdom by learning about the Faith, reciting their prayers, and attending Holy Mass with the rest of the school.
“I loved learning letters, playing outside and singing Jesus songs”
