Spanish Exchange Program

At St. Mary Virtue Catholic School, we believe in providing our students with opportunities to experience the world beyond the classroom, fostering cultural understanding and enriching their personal growth. Our Spanish exchange program is designed to provide students with unique, immersive learning experiences that align with both their academic goals and our school’s values of global citizenship, virtue and faith. Through this program, students have the opportunity to embrace a new culture, language and relationships while deepening their faith in a Catholic, family-centred environment. This journey helps them to grow into great and beautiful lives.

When St. Mary Catholic Virtue School Students go abroad

Our sister schools, Stella Maris La Gavia and Stella Maris College Prep School, are located in Madrid, Spain. Every fall, Middle School students (grades 6-8) are invited to spend three months with a host family. During their stay, students attend school at Stella Maris and immerse themselves in the daily life and culture of Spain.

Hosting Stella Maris College & Prep School Students

This program operates on a reciprocal basis, meaning that if your child participates in the exchange and travels to Spain, it is expected that your family will host a student from Spain in return. This mutualexchange fosters a deeper cultural understanding and strengthens the bonds between families, as bothstudents have the opportunity to experience life in a different country, language, and family setting.

Hosting a student from Spain not only enriches your family’s cultural perspective, but also provides a unique opportunity to form lasting international relationships.
