Diocesan School

St. Mary Catholic School is a school within the Archdiocese of Denver. The Archdiocesan mission and vision of education mirrors our own. “Our schools exist to support parents in forming their children in truth, as faithful and virtuous disciples of Jesus Christ, who are fully alive, to serve the common good and discover true happiness.”

Educational Philosophy

Literary selections plays a crucial role in shaping your child's moral imagination. Rooted in the wisdom of Gaudium et Spes, our approach emphasizes the significance of literature and the arts in illuminating the essence of humanity, its challenges, and the pursuit of self-improvement.

At the heart of our educational philosophy is Narrative Intelligence—a concept that guides our students and teachers in discerning the virtues and flaws portrayed in literary characters. Through engaging literature, we empower our students to identify and emulate virtuous qualities while critically examining non-virtuous traits. Join us in fostering a deep appreciation for the richness of human experiences and a commitment to a better, more virtuous life.

Core Program

St Mary Catholic Virtue School’s core program places a strong emphasis on English/Literature. Beginning with reading instruction and development in the primary grades, we continue to nurture literature appreciation, grammar, and composition skills at all levels. Complementing this focus are comprehensive studies in mathematics, science, and history.

In the early years (Kindergarten through 5th grade), our religion curriculum is centered around catechesis, while in grades 6-8, students delve into theology. Regardless of the grade level, our Catholic faith is seamlessly integrated into the academic day, fostering a holistic educational environment for all students.
